Dates to Remember:
January 28 Schedule Preference Forms deadline
February 4 Evaluation Forms deadline
February 26 Woodwind Evaluations
March 5-6 Piano Evaluations for North Region
Panel Evaluations
March 12-13 Theory Examinations at Chabot College
March 12 and 20 Piano Evaluations for South Region

To all teachers who have panel students: Panel Chair says January 15 is the deadline to change your student to Advanced Level, if student decides to drop from panel. After this date, your student will be in panel whether he/she wants to or not. You will be receiving an extra note regarding this in the next mailing.

You will be receiving a snail mail from me in the next few days regarding teacher jobs. Please read carefully and follow directions. Also, there will be a list of your students registered for CM. Remember to check the spelling of their names and make sure the CM Level is correct. We will be using this list to make certificates and exam labels. If your student decides to drop from exams, immediately call and inform Grace Cheng (south region) or me (north region).

The evaluation forms will be coming a little late this year due to MTAC headquarters move. As soon as I get *the box* from them, I will send you your packet. Because they are running behind, you will have less time to fill out your evaluation forms and schedule preference forms, so don*t procrastinate. See above for deadline dates to turn in your forms.

All jobs have been assigned now. If you have questions about your job, please call Katherine LaRose, (510) 796-4261.
We are STILL looking for an assistant for Katherine LaRose to help her coordinate theory examinations at Chabot College. She wants somebody to take over for her, probably next year. She will walk you through the job and help you as you learn. If we don*t have anyone, we aren*t going to have examinations!!! Come on somebody, volunteer!!! Thanks.

Also, I am looking for somebody to cover North Chair, so that I don*t have to do two jobs. I would really appreciate that, too. Thanks!

First of all, thanks for not calling me about questions that you could so easily discover for yourself in the syllabus or on-line on the MTAC website. Remember, it*s impossible for me to tell you everything you need to know about CM. I*m expecting you to get the information the way I get it.
I urge you to go on-line and read the CM Newsletter for September for the latest CM information and changes. Also click on the chronology of CM Chair under CM policies. You will see a blow-by-blow of what is expected of me as Chair for the year.
Some of you were asking about why your students who are in high school have 0 for number of years in CM on their web page last newsletter. The answer to the question is: don*t worry about it, your CM Chair is still the one who keeps the records of your students* years in CM.
If you have any good questions like that, don*t hesitate to call me, because I*m sure many teachers have the same questions, and it*s my job to find out for you and tell you all in the newsletter.

Well, I have been earning my pay. I learned a couple things on the computer and feel a little more confident in my ability to be chair. Thank you for your patience. Now I have to learn how to make labels and print certificates! Have I forgotten anything?!!
