December 1 Deadline to send in CM fees to Millie Chiem, Treasurer
Wow!
What a great meeting on September 19!!! Last year only 37 members came to the CM meeting.
This year we had 62!! Thank you all for attending. Unfortunately, I have to remember to
field the questions and comments AFTER I have said my peace, because sure enough, I forgot
to mention a couple of other things I need to tell you regarding CM. Im a little
disappointed in the number of teachers who have signed up for studio. I am once again
short, so Ill have to change some of your jobs, etc., so that I get enough places
for your students to play their evaluations. Most likely you will get the job you signed
up for, but if I need to move you around, because by now I know your strengths, I may ask
you to do a different job that needs to be filled more than the one you signed up for.
First, Feb. 18-19 is a holiday weekend with a Monday off for some students. Please
inform your parents NOW that if they plan on a vacation, I will not give them a makeup
because they *made plans.* Tell them NOW when the theory exams will be held, so they avoid
making plans on that weekend. The only make ups that are allowed are students who are ill
or in an accident, and if they are in high school and working on their senior award. No
exceptions.
For those of you who left early, there is an error in the August Newsletter, that I
neglected to omit. On pg. 4 the sentence under Clarification of Keyboard Periods must be
crossed out like it*s crossed out on pg. 3. Read the addendum page, which is the last one
in your packet for the accurate information.
Branch Fee has been hiked to $10 due to higher costs for renting the facilities for CM
exams.
There has been *rampant cheating* going on in the upper level CM theory exam room, so any
activity involved in getting answers dishonestly, suspicious or otherwise, will result in
immediate expulsion of the student from the test with a Fail grade. No exceptions.
Remember to make corrections with your students name on your site. All this information is
used to run the exams. For example, the certificates we make with their name printed comes
from that data, so if your student*s name is misspelled or not properly capitalized, it
will show up. A new one will not be made.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go on-line to www.MTAC.org and read the CM Newsletter. The
September issue is chockfull of information regarding HOW the evaluators will be grading
and evaluating your student. They have the sight reading requirements, for example now.
I have taken your comments and complaints that you communicated to me at the meeting
seriously, and will pass them on to Bobette Cameron who is head of CM Council. I know she
will answer quickly, and I will pass her comments to you in the next newsletter.
If you have ANY questions regarding CM, no matter how dumb you might think it is, please
don*t hesitate to call me to get the answer. That is my job to help you be more informed
about CM and to make it easier for you to participate in CM.
